What are the Child Passes for? Child passes are for children between the ages of 6-12. Children 13+ must have an adult pass, while children under the age of 6 are free and do not require a wristband.
How much are Child Passes? 3-day Child Passes cost $39, 1-day Passes cost $20 per day. All Child Passes cost an additional $10 if purchased on-site.
I have a VIP ticket; can my young child get in early with me? Yes. Your child under age 6 can go with you. If your child is between the ages of 6-12, they must also have a VIP ticket.
How do I get a children’s wristband for my child? When you purchase a child’s pass, it will be sent to you prior to the event, or you can pick it up at a SiliCon registration booth. If your child is under the age of 6, they do not require a wristband.
Can I bring my stroller? Yes. Strollers are allowed but please be courteous to fellow attendees.
Do you have a place I can nurse/pump? Yes. There will be a private place with chairs, outlets, and a table.
Which celebrity guests will be at SiliCon 2020? We will be announcing our guests on a rolling basis; please continue to check back! SiliCon Guests
Will the guests from previous SiliCon events be coming to SiliCon 2020? Not necessarily. While some celebrity guests may have attended in the past, guests are only booked for one event at a time.
How do I meet the celebrity guest I am coming to see? SiliCon provides a wonderful opportunity to meet special guests. Each celebrity will have their own booth and times when everyone and anyone in attendance can meet them. However, celebrities require the purchase of an Autograph in order to meet them. Professional Photo Ops will also be available and provide the opportunity to meet a guest.
Can I reach out to the celebrities to invite them myself? It is great when a lot of fans encourage celebs to come to SiliCon and does help them get interested. It is appropriate to request for the celebrity manager to contact SiliCon directly to negotiate the terms of their participation.
I’m an agent or manager for an actor or comic artist who would like to attend your show as a guest. Whom do I contact? Agents and celebrity managers are welcome to fill out our Guest Form, and will be contacted by SiliCon thereafter to negotiate the terms of their participation.
Can I bring a gift to give to my favorite celebrity? You can bring a gift if you’ve purchased an Autograph and give it to them at the Autograph desk. Gifts in the Photo Op area are strictly prohibited. However, as a general rule of thumb, it is recommended that attendees do not present media guests with gifts as they often do not have space to fit the gifts into their luggage or they can’t bring the gifts home with them. Gifts of food and/or beverage are strictly prohibited.
Are all guests guaranteed to show up? All guests that we announce have committed to attend the show. As is standard practice at fanfest events around the country, they have the right to cancel if circumstances require it. If one of our announced guests cancels their appearance, we will do our best to replace them with a comparable guest.
What if a guest cancels? What happens the Photo Ops and Autographs that I have purchased? It is rare, but it can happen. When a guest cancels their appearance and you already pre-purchased their Photo Op or Autograph, you have the option to either swap that Photo Op or Autograph to another product of equal or greater value or request a refund. To upgrade or swap your voucher:
- Open the Photo Op or Autograph voucher email that was sent to you from GrowTix and go into your order.
- Click the green button labeled “Swap or Upgrade!”
- Select the Ticket/Photo Op/Autograph you would like to exchange or upgrade to and pay the difference if applicable.
We highly recommend that you print and bring to the event a printed copy of the QR code for each Photo Op and Autograph that you purchased for the fastest processing at the event. If you require a refund, please email us at [email protected]
SiliCon is dedicated to serving all of its attendees. The Deaf and Disabled Services Department was established to offer a hand to visitors with special needs, including:
- A rest area for the disabled, the elderly, expectant mothers, and parents with small infants
- A nursing area for mothers with infants
- Registration service for attendees with mobility issues
- Wheelchairs for loan in two-to-three-hour increments on a first-come, first-served basis; all you need is an ID and a cash deposit.
- American Sign Language interpreters for the deaf at large Panels and the Costume Contest.
- Limited number of volunteer interpreters available for individual assistance
- Special limited seating for large programming events and the Costume Contest
If you are an attendee with disabilities, SiliCon wants to make your experience as fun and as entertaining as possible, but there are a few limitations on what can be provided. For example:
- Programming rooms fill up quickly, and all seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so special seating may not be available if you wait until the last minute to get to the room. Please read your Events Guide and plan your day accordingly, keeping in mind the popularity of most events.
- Special autograph sessions are always limited, so it is a good idea to make arrangements to have someone within your group save a spot for you in line. Keep in mind that Deaf and Disabled Services cannot guarantee any seating, autographs, or giveaways.
The Deaf and Disabled Services team is here to help. By working together, we can make the convention experience enjoyable for everyone.
If I worked at the last event, am I already signed up to work again? No. You will need to re-apply and go through the registration page again to be a team member for SiliCon 2020.
What is the age limit to work at the event? You must be at least 18 years old.
The show is over; can I still purchase a JPEG of my Photo Op? That’s absolutely no problem, as Epic Photo Ops archives all of the photos! All you need is a PayPal account and to send the following information to [email protected].
- Convention Name
- Email Address
- Order, Invoice, or Ticket Number(starting with “T-“)
- Photo Number (starting with “P-” next to barcode).
A payment of $10 to [email protected] is also required.

Please allow up to 48 business hours for an answer. If the convention has already started, visit the Epic Photo Ops Help Desk, located in the Photo Op area, with a government-issued photo ID and they can help you.
What if I lose or forget my Photo Op ticket? If you lose your ticket and/or don’t bring your online purchase ticket, visit the Epic Photo Ops Help Desk in the Photo Op area at the convention to have a new ticket printed. Please bring a piece of photo ID.
Can I use my Photo Op ticket on a different day or at a different time? Photo ops are sold per session to ensure that we always know exactly how many people are coming per Photo Op. Consequently, you may only use your Photo Op for the purchased session. If you purchased a Photo Op session and decide to come at a different time or day, you will be denied entry for your Photo Op. You can, however, go to our help desk in the Photo Op area and exchange it for a different session on a different day if that session is not sold out.
Is there are a map of the Convention Center? Maps of the San Jose Convention Center, Vendor Hall layout and Panel Rooms are available on the official SiliCon mobile app and printed maps will also be available at the convention.
Can I bring my own camera? Yes! We highly encourage you to do so, as there will be lots to photograph! However, please be respectful and do not take photographs of any attendee, cosplayer or celebrity guest without their permission.
Can outside books and posters be brought in? Yes.
Are backpacks, purses or shoulder bags allowed? Yes. Keep in mind they are subject to search.
Will there be lockers or a coat check to store my stuff while at the convention? No. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Will there be Internet access at the convention? We anticipate the WiFi connection will be very weak due to the sheer number of people in attendance. Do not plan to rely on the convention center’s WiFi connection while you are at the event. The SiliCon Mobile App does not need the internet in order to send you push notifications about schedule changes.
Will there be charging stations for my phone/tablet? Generally, no. However, there will be wall outlets throughout the convention center that you can use.
Is outside food allowed inside the San Jose Convention Center? No. Exceptions will be made for people with food sensitivities or medical conditions. Small snacks and baby food are okay.
Is there a designated smoking area at the San Jose Convention Center? Indoor smoking of any kind is prohibited. Per the San Jose Convention Center’s smoking policy: “California law prohibits smoking in any public space in the facility. This includes Vendor Hall, exhibit halls, restrooms, lobbies, corridors and meeting rooms. Use of e-cigarettes is also prohibited. Smokers must be at least 25 feet away from any entryway to be in compliance with the California Clean Air Act.”
Is there a Lost and Found? During the convention, the Lost and Found will be located at the main info booth in Exhibit Hall 2. After the convention is over, all items will be left with the San Jose Convention Center in the Team San Jose administrative offices. They can be contacted at 1-800-San-Jose.
Is there a Quiet Room? Yes. For our attendees looking for a place to just relax away from the convention floor there is Quiet Room. The Quiet Room is where cosplayers and attendees alike can rest their feet away from cameras and other people. While we don’t recommend napping here, it’s a great place to just relax and get away from the stresses a convention can present. The Quiet Room is in room 233.
QUIET ROOM POLICIES
- Please be courteous of fellow attendees while enjoying your time inside of Quiet Room.
- Please be mindful of your volume. No talking, but whispers are acceptable.
- Children are not permitted in the Quiet Room.
- Cameras are not permitted while inside of the Quiet Room.
- No eating or drinking while inside of the Quiet Room. (Bottled water is OK.)
- Please turn cell phones to vibrate or silent mode. If you must answer a phone call, please take it outside of the Quiet Room.
- Please turn off the volume on all gaming devices, laptops, tablets and electronics. Headphones are encouraged!
- Please do not move lounge furniture.
How safe is it to attend? The safety of our guests is our priority at SiliCon. In conjunction with local police and the SJCC, we have a complete multi-tiered security plan in place, including security guards, undercover police officers, guard dogs, metal detectors and many other measures. In addition, SiliCon has a NO HARASSMENT Policy and will not tolerate harassment of any kind. Any harassment should be reported to SiliCon Staff or Security.
